ITALERI 1/35 M24 Chaffee U.S. Light Tank
The M24 Chaffee tank was distributed to US Army units from 1944 to provide a light tank on the battlefield capable of replacing the obsolete M3/M5 Stuart. The configuration of the M24 tank was significantly different from its predecessor and its design proved to be very effective, to the point that it is considered one of the best light tanks ever produced. It was agile, robust and reliable and was well armed for a "light tank" - it had a 75 mm M6 cannon with 48 rounds. The tank's armament was supplemented by two 12.7 mm Browning machine guns. It was also effective in close infantry support missions and advanced reconnaissance operations. During the conflict, effective cooperation developed between M24 units and more heavily armed armored vehicles, such as the Sherman in various versions.
